Nozomi Lyn (ノゾミ リン) is a Los Angeles-based trilingual Film Composer, Singer-Songwriter, Multi-Instrumentalist, and Producer of Japanese and Chinese descent. Originally from Tokyo, Japan, and growing up between Japan, China, Canada, and the United States, her multicultural background has deeply influenced her musical voice and storytelling. She is passionate about exploring new sounds by blending orchestral and electronic instruments with multicultural influences, vocals, and sound design.

As a film composer, Nozomi has written original music for award-winning short films, animations, and documentaries. She recently served as score editor for the PBS documentary series In Her Nature, assisting composer Tammy Ari. Her recent credits include The Scars We Choose, a documentary screened at DOC NYC Festival 2024; The White Flag, which won Best Short Film at the I.F.B. Studios 2025 Film Festival; and One Bullet on a Blade, an animated short that won multiple awards at the Anatolia International Film Festival and was a finalist at the New York International Film Awards. Nozomi is also passionate about the sound creation process in film. She handled foley and sound design for the short film Buttons, which was named a semi-finalist at the Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival 2025.

Outside of film scoring, Nozomi is involved with musical theater, live orchestras, radio shows, and supporting multi-cultural projects. Nozomi served as a music assistant to film and musical theatre composer Cecilia Lin on the musical Fusong, which had an industry reading at New 42 Studios in New York City. Nozomi's orchestral compositions have been recorded live by the Budapest Symphony Orchestra. In addition, she hosts Sleepless in Seattle in Mandarin, a monthly music radio show that airs on Chinese Radio Seattle. As of July 2025, Nozomi was selected to be the Director of the Non-Profit Organization Japan-China Film Festival Executive Committee, representing and honoring both her cultural heritage.

As a singer-songwriter, Nozomi began writing music at the age of 11 and by 14 had already established herself as both a performer and recording artist. She released her debut single Future is Now in 2016, followed by her debut EP WEST COAST in 2018. In 2020, she collaborated with Grammy-nominated producer and engineer Joseph Magee (Miley Cyrus, Whitney Houston, Pitch Perfect soundtrack) on four singles. One of her songs charted at No. 5 on Belgium’s iTunes Pop Album Chart and No. 16 on the Overall Album Chart. On Valentine’s Day 2025, she released Old Fashioned Valentine, a single she wrote, produced, and mixed herself, with mastering by multi–Emmy Award-winning Jamie Lawrence. As a performer, Nozomi was invited to sing at the China–Italy–Canada Cultural Development Week hosted by the Heilongjiang Provincial Government in 2016, with performances broadcast on CCTV and HNBTV. In her early years, she frequently performed at cafés and bars in Vancouver, and in 2017, she sang the Canadian national anthem at a BC Lions football game at BC Place Stadium.

This summer, Nozomi will perform her original compositions with the Harbin Symphony Orchestra at Harbin Concert Hall on August 23, 2025, alongside renowned Japanese singer-songwriter Tokiko Kato at her 60th Anniversary Concert. The day before the concert, Nozomi will release a trilingual EP "Blue Songbird (渡り鳥の子守唄)" with TEICHIKU ENTERTAINMENT. It's created in collaboration with 加藤登紀子 (Tokiko Kato) and composer/arranger 宮崎慎二 (Shinji Miyazaki, known for Pokémon, Doraemon, and Crayon Shin-chan).

In addition to her work as a composer, recording artist, and performer, Nozomi holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Business and a Master of Music in Screen Scoring, both from New York University.
